Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Administrative Specialist III position is administrative work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies.  The selected employee's duties and responsibilities will include creating and maintaining various managerial reports utilizing Excel spreadsheets and Word Software.  The incumbent will monitor newly established performance metrics, analyze data and make recommendations to improve program compliance.  In addition, the incumbent will prepare and distribute detailed reports concerning the implementation of new procedures and practices, consult with program managers concerning program needs and assessments and compile data accordingly.  The employee will perform other duties and special projects as needed.  The successful applicant must be proficient in the use of Word and Excel, have the ability to work independently and have good communication skills.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:    Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience:  Two years of experience in administrative or professional work.

NOTES:

1.  Candidates may substitute experience as defined above at the rate of one year experience for 30 credit hours of education for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2.  Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant must be proficient in the use of Word and Excel, have the ability to work independently and have good communication skills. 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
