Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, Training Division in Annapolis, Maryland, is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Contractual Administrative Assistant. This position will be a 8 month contractual position working 32-40 hours per week. (December 2014 to June 2015). This position provides administrative support to the training division staff of the Maryland Park Service. The applicant will maintain data bases, handle correspondence via mail and email, handle basic procurement, provide customer service to students and outside vendors, handle basic budget maintenance, and assist with preparation of training course materials. The applicant must have excellent skills in organization, communication (in-person and telephone), and general office management. Applicant must be able to start in early December 2014.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:  High School Education, Associates Degree or above preferred.

Experience:  2 years of experience in the administrative or secretarial science field.  Applicant must have experience with Microsoft Office 2010 or higher, with extensive experience with Access, Excel, Power Point.  

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using Crown Point Technologies, Skills Manager software for training management.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must have a valid driver's license.
