POSITION DUTIES
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Candidates must be eligible to apply for or be willing to obtain certification by the Maryland State Department of Education within prescribed amount of time. Fluency in American Sign Language and written English required. Knowledge of students with additional disabilities and ability to teach students on different levels and with varying educational backgrounds is required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Selective Qualification: Master's degree in Education or special education of Deaf students.
Preferred Qualification: Knowledge and understanding of the Deaf Community.

Applications will be prescreened before candidates are invited to an interview. Preference is given to applicants who already meet the Maryland State Department of Education's designation of Highly Qualified teacher.
