The selected candidates will be allowed to work out of one of seven offices, which are located in Salisbury, Hillsboro, Annapolis, Waldorf, Owings Mills, Hagerstown, and Flintstone Maryland.  

Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Police is currently accepting applications for Two (2) Reserve Officer Coordinator positions which are equated to the Administrative Officer III classification. These are contractual positions with no benefits. The candidates selected for each of these positions will be responsible for coordinating "Reserve Officer" volunteers for one-half of the State; more specifically each coordinator will perform the following:

-Oversee the recruitment and training of volunteers

-Facilitate interaction between Natural Resources Police personnel and Volunteers.

-Set up and monitor public relations assignments for the volunteers.

-Establish and participate in community events and programs for the volunteers.

-Maintain a sound working relationship with the communities served

-Monitor the contributions of the volunteers and provide counseling or take corrective actions as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

 2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
