Annapolis, MD (Anne Arundel County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Chesapeake and Coastal Service in Annapolis, Maryland, is currently accepting applications for Two (2) Natural Resources Planner III positions. Each position will manage multi-year, multi-partnered targeted restoration programs affiliated with the 2010 Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund. Specific tasks related to this role include: project/grant management via a minimum of quarterly site visits throughout Maryland, oversight of invoicing and tracking of expenditures, collecting project data, and assistance in developing an annual report to the State legislature. In addition, each position will provide technical assistance and coordination in the development of new projects and partnerships and advise and assist in the development of new financing strategies, policies, and tools related to Chesapeake Bay and local watershed restoration.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in an environmental science or natural resources planning, management or development.

Experience: Three years of experience in natural resources planning or applied environmental science.

Notes:

1. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in urban or regional planning, engineering, physical geography, or the physical, chemical, biological sciences and one year of experience in natural resources planning or applied environmental science may be substituted for the required education.

2. Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in natural resources planning, management, administration, development, environmental, urban or regional planning; resources economics or development; environmental system management; water or land resources planning and management; environmental landscape architecture; or the physical, biological, chemical or environmental sciences maybe substituted for up to three years of the required experience.
