LOCATION OF POSITION

Annapolis, MD (Anne Arundel County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, is currently accepting applications for a contractual instructor for the Maryland Park Service Training Division, located in Annapolis, MD. The applicant will be providing basic instructor services in Emergency Medical Services at the Emergency Medical Responder level and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instruction, along with Search and Rescue Training at the Introduction to Search and Rescue level for the Maryland Park Service Training Division. In addition this instructor will also be required to provide basic instruction in Wildlife Management with Firearms. This position involves travel across the State, lesson planning and preparation, classroom management, communicating with students and proficiency with technology associated with classroom and field training. This position may also fill-in on occasion with administrative assistance to the training division.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Application must have at least 5 years of experience instructing with the Maryland Park Service.
  • The applicant must have instructor certifications with ECSI or MEIMSS to instruct at the Emergency Medical Responder level, American Heart Association CPR Instructor, NRA Firearms Instructor Certification for Home Firearms Safety, Basic Rifle, and Basic Shotgun, and they must be proficient in instruction of Search and Rescue.
  • Must have at least two years of experience using Skills Manager (Crown Point Technology) for management of student training records.

Notes: 

  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Applicants must adhere to all State and Federal laws, safety regulations, and must understand and ashere to all park policies. 
  • Contract start and end dates are flexible and subject to change.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
