The Student Technical Assistant classification is used to hire college students for temporary positions at DHCD. College Transcripts are required to verify coursework completion and current enrollment.

POSITION DUTIES

The Student Technical Assistant Classification is used to hire college students for temporary summer positions at DHCD.

Finance/Accounting:

The main purpose of this job is to provide support of a financial, analytical and administrative nature to employees in the Department while maintaining strong internal controls, thereby supporting the goals and mission of DHCD and the Division, as described in the Managing for Results (MFR) documents.

Community Outreach:

The Community Outreach Intern will assist in analyzing outreach event database, exit surveys and working with IT/OCM to set-up the Share Point drive for the OCO; including posting documents onto the share drive. The OCO intern will provide support to Management in updating manuals, reports, preparing for events and performing administrative duties. These functions provide support to the unit and department for producing useful reporting tools and guidance and preparing for outreach activities.Human Resources:

Communications & Marketing:

The candidate should be a proficient writer with high level multi-media communication skills and capable of assisting the Office of Communications and Marketing as it designs and implements public relations, advertising, and marketing strategies for the agency.

Human Resources:

The HR intern will provide assistance to Recruitment Manager and Classification Analyst, performing HR Generalist activities as assigned. Position will assist with the Office of Human Resources' record retention project. Intern will assist in the benchmarking of agency unique classifications. Intern will survey and store personnel records to include cataloguing, indexing, and adhering to record retention schedules.

Public Policy/Public Administration:

The DCA Data Reporting Intern will assist in analyzing multifamily reports and loan documents monitored by the Division of Credit Assurance’s Multifamily Asset Management group. The DCA Data Reporting Intern will provide support to Management in updating manuals. These functions provide support to the Division and Department for producing useful reporting tools and guidance.

Interns must be able to handle confidential information and work according to agency policies, procedures and guidelines.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

In order to be eligible for this opportunity, students must have completed freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in an undergraduate program and be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Appropriate College Majors: Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Journalism, Mass Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Human Resources, or another related field.

Transcripts are required to verify education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in Microsoft Office may be a requirement for some positions.
