The Contractual Community Health Nurse II is the full performance level of direct nursing care to patients in various community settings and local health department clinics.  The purpose of this position is to protect and promote the health of individuals and the community of Queen Anne's County by planning and implementing the Family Planning, Crenshaw, Chronic Disease, Wellness Connection and Dental Programs.  The incumbent will provide services to clients in the Family Planning program to promote Reproductive Health according to the Maryland Family Planning and Queen Anne's County Health Department's guidelines.  The employee will provide services to the population in the Wellness Connection program to promote linkage to community resources and health education in addition to oral health to children and families.  The selected individual should have experience in Family Planning and Health Education.  Working evening/weekend hours may be required as needed.

Education:    A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.

Experience:  None.

NOTES:

1.  Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse for the required education.

2.  Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a registered nurse for the required education.

The desirable applicant should have experience in Family Planning and Health Education.

1.  Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

2.  Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.
