Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Administrative Specialist II is the full performance level of administrative work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies.  The individual in this position will perform lead secretarial functions that support the Compliance and Regulations/Legislative Unit Managers and staff members.  General duties include coordinating day-to-day staff operations related to Wholesale Distributors and Pharmacy Establishments, specifically assembling, compiling and summarizing data for use by the Pharmacist Compliance Officer (PCO), Establishment Inspectors, Executive Director and Board members.  The incumbent will schedule inspections, receive and enter inspection reports, perform administrative functions related to fleet management, draft responses to requests for general information from federal, state and non-profit agencies.  The employee will extract and consolidate pertinent information from existing documents and files, prepare minutes and provide other administrative support at Board and committee meetings, maintain and track scheduled meetings, track assignments that result from Board and committee decisions, perform data entry functions, prepare expense accounts and route the flow of information and materials between the Compliance Unit, Leg/Regs Unit and all other units at the Board.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:    Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience:  One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

NOTES:

1.  Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.

2.  Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
