Matapeake Marine Terminal- Stevensville, MD (Queen Anne's County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Boating Services Unit, is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Contractual Painter based at DNR Matapeake Marine Terminal in Queen Anne's County. The incumbent will perform maintenance on navigational and regulatory buoys and/or markers. Duties include but not limited to: cleaning, painting and repairing of existing buoys or the preparation for new buoys; labeling buoys with the appropriate U.S. Coast Guard approved colors and verbiage; facilitating the pouring and finishing of concrete buoy weights; assisting the Maintenance Chief with maintenance requirements of the facility; operating various vehicles to transport buoys, unload weights, stocks buoy and other supplies.

Position may be required to work on weekends and holidays and subject to on call 24 hours a day.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Completion of eighth grade.

Experience: One (1) year of experience in painting work at the fully proficient level.
