Main Purpose of Job
The Contractual Medical Care Program Associate II is the full performance level of work in a Medical Assistance Program in the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The main purpose of this position is to effectively function as a Medical Care Program Associate II in the Medicaid Office of Systems, Operations, and Pharmacy (OSOP) by serving in a multi-task position to be cross trained in a variety of medical care related functions including but not limited to determining eligibility, processing claims-batch claims, processing both paper and electronic claims, reconciling errors related to claims, resolving provider issues and all claims related functions for pharmacy, physicians, and hospitals. The incumbent will respond to inquiries from applicants, recipients, pharmacies, providers, advocates and others to provide information and resolve complaints and outstanding issues, complete any clerical duties associated with the functions listed above, provide clerical support as requested and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.
NOTES:
1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credit hours for one year of experience.
