Main Purpose of Job

To ensure the safe and expeditious transport of juveniles from institutions, courts, group homes, airport, hospitals, mental institutions, and other facilities in the state of Maryland.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:  High School Diploma or GED certificate

Experience:  None

 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification must complete and successfully pass the Entrance Level Correctional Training Course for DJS support staff required for the Maryland Correctional Training Commission certificate.

2. Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

This position is subject to the Correctional Services Article, Title 8, which

requires compliance with the Maryland Correctional Training Commission’s

selection/training standards; therefore the candidate will be required to receive

a drug test, background check and physical/mental health exam.
