LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job
Employees functioning at this level serve as technicians in the arrest booking process and are responsible for data capture, subsequent entry into the automated booking system and the safe and expeditious movement of arrestees through the arrest booking process.
POSITION DUTIES
Perform the Arrest Booking interview and enter the data received into the proper fields in the Automated Booking System (ABS).
Evaluate incoming arrestees in order to ensure that their physical and mental condition conforms to Facility guideline. Searches arrestees and inventories their personal property for storage.
Respond to the direction of supervisors in moving arrestees through the arrest booking process.
Fingerprints and photographs arrestees on live scan equipment designed for the process and captures ink-rolled palm prints on fingerprint cards.
Enters case related data received from police Officers into the Automated Booking System.
Maintains control of arrestees while escorting them individually or in groups, within the facility. Physically restrains or subdues individuals and responds to emergencies as necessary.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes:
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee must demonstrate the ability to accurately type on a typewriter or keyboard on a personal computer, computer terminal or word processor at a minimum of forty words per minute.
