Introduction

This is a Special Appointment position at the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions. The incumbent will work at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

This position is limited to permanent and contractual Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services' employees only.

Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for assisting the Academy Supervisors within the assigned Correctional Entrance Level Training Program (CELTP) in the planning, organizing, managing, and implementing of assigned programmatic and/or administrative projects. This position has the primary responsibility for registration of CELTP recruits, completing and maintain recruit transcripts and ensuring all entrance level training data is maintained within the Skills and Training Manager databases.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
(In order to meet this educational requirement a transcript or copy of diploma must accompany your application. Failure to do so will result in disapproval. )

Experience:   Three years' performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical or Office Services specialty codes in the administrative support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
