Main Purpose of Job
Supervise proper operation and maintenance of UHF DTV transmitters in order to comply with FCC rules & regulations and meet all performance criteria for quality reception. This position is required to perform the maintenance and operation of all equipment located at the respective transmitter or microwave sites, including: high power UHF DTV transmitters and anicllary equipment, microwave and fiber-optic distribution equipment, transmitter remote control equipment, HVAC equipment, backup AC power systems, Emergency Alert System equipment, DTV, RF and electronics test and measurement systems and video monitoring systems.
POSITION DUTIES

Repair, calibrate and optimize equipment needed for daily "on-air" operations, by using standard test methods, procedures and good engineering practices, in order to maintain or restore equipment to service with minimum down time.

Read schematics and troubleshoot and repair circuit boards down to a component level.

Configure and troubleshoot IT network infrastructures, severs and their various operating systems.

Install, test and adjust new broadcast equipment systems, consisting of multiple component parts, interconnecting wiring and equipment racks, transmission lines, waveguides and patch fields.

Perform monthly maintenance and cleaning of the transmitter facility and equipment to ensure that all operations are in compliance with MPT and FCC rules and regulations.

Conduct equipment and parts inventory in order to maintain adequate supply of spare parts. Order parts when supplies are low.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associates or Bachelor's degree in electronics/electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be available for 24/7 on-call status in case of equipment failure
This position requires on-call responsibilities during nights, weekends and holidays.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
FCC General Class License or SBE Certification preferred
Employees without the FCC License must agree to obtain this license during their first year of employment.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must have a valid Drivers License
Note: This position has frequent in-state travel
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Work in an environment with high ambient sound level. Work may occur outdoors.

Hazardous high voltage in transmitter systems and RF radiation

Risk of burns near high wattage equipment & liquid coolants

Exposure to fast moving mechanical parts such as generators and blower motors with belts and pulleys

Must be able to lift equipment in excess of 50lbs. and install equipment in 7 foot racks.

Lift, install and remove water pumps in excess of 100 lbs.

Climb ladders to work on tranmission line, lighting and building rooftop equipment
