Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of this position is to manage MPT Foundation, Inc. business operations, to provide professional and administrative support to the Vice President, Finance and Accounting and to assist in budget preparations. This position will review Foundation contracts, maintain banking records, coordinate the annual audit, manage financial operations and monitor compliance of Foundation policies and procedures.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Provides professional management of MPT Foundation, Inc. fiscal operations including preparation of financial plan.
  • Perform daily business functions such as preparation of bank deposits and information distribution to departments, bank reconciliations (reviewed monthly), log purchase orders, expense reports and contracts, review and process invoices for payment, review credit card purchases for compliance to business procedures, submit 1099 information to auditors, process draws to MPT, monitors Comprehensive Campaign and make sure charity campaign documents are filed on schedule.  Retain MPT Foundation banking documents and signature sheets.
  • Assists in special projects.
  • Assists CFO with preparation and submission of MPT operating budget and MFR process.  Prepares appropriations spreadsheet for CFO so funds can be allocated to cost centers.  Prepares and submits budget amendments.  prepares and pulls up HOBO data.  Submits MFR to Department of Budget & Management and attends yearly MFR training sessions.  All budget documents must be submitted according to DBM schedule.
  • Makes sure MPT is in compliance with MPT Foundation audit requirements.  Establishes internal controls and monitors corrective action plans.  Eliminates repeat findings.  Reviews Data Security Standards and reviews merchant account activity.  updates business procedures when necessary.  Completes system documentation for contracts, cash corporate support, development raffles and maintains for audit.  Makes sure documents are filed with Secretary of State.
  • Responsible for financial reporting, spreadsheets and other assignments as required.  Researching of transactions, creation of customized reports from HOBO, QuickBooks, FOCUS & Webfocus.  maintains notary certification.
  • Backup duties include payroll, FMIS-RSTARS, release and audit backup documentation, process journal vouchers, FMIS-Fixed Assets (record data), FMIS-ADPICS run reports, update tables, review security profiles, create and post receiving tickets.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, CPA preferred

5 years of experience in fiscal operations that includes monitoring budgets and expenses and verifying, recording and adjusting financial transactions in automated systems.
