Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Bureau Director of the Infectious Disease and Care Services Bureau within the Prevention and Health Promotion Administration (PHPA).  The position supervises the Deputy Director, who is responsible for and oversees the work and activities of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Care Services Bureau (IDPCS). The Bureau Director works closely with the IDPCS Deputy Director to ensure the vision and the core mission of the administration guides the activities, programs and policies of the IDPCS office, represents PHPA in close coordination with the IDPCS Director in the media, in the community and with the legislature. The position may act for the PHPA Director or Deputy Director in the either's absence if assigned by the Director.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant should have a master's degree in public health or a related field and five years of experience related to infectious disease epidemiology, prevention and control, outbreak response and investigation, in areas such as: sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis, including three years of supervisory and management experience including responsibility for developing budgets, tracking expenditures, and staff recruitment. 

In addition, the successful applicant should have: experience with forming and maintaining diverse partnerships and demonstrated public health experience at either the federal, state, or local level.
