Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Deputy Director, Infectious Disease Prevention and Care Services (IDPCS) Bureau, Prevention and Health Promotion Administration (PHPA) Administration. The position assists the Director in managing the internal operations of the IDPCS, personnel functions, trainings, and workforce development initiatives. This position supervises the IDPCS Leadership Team which includes the the Chiefs of the Centers of HIV Prevention (includes the Adult Viral Hepatitis Program), HIV Care Services, MADAP, and STI Prevention, and Faith Based and Community Partnerships. The position may act for the Director at his/her direction.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Qualified applicants must possess a master's degree in public health or a related field and three years of experience related to infectious disease prevention, control, and care coordination and service, in the following areas: sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis, including at least three years of supervisory and management experience including responsibility for developing budgets, tracking expenditures, procurement, and staff recruitment.

In addition, the successful applicant should have experience with forming and maintaining diverse partnerships and have demonstrated public health experience at either the federal, state, or local level.  Familiarity with state policies and procedures is preferred.
