Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHR) seeks a strong leader and administrator to direct the staff and efforts of the Citizens Review Board for Children (CRBC).  The Administrator ensures that necessary professional and support services are provided to the State Board, Local Citizens Review Boards, and Local Citizen Review Panels to sustain an  infrastructure that supports CRBC’s mission to monitor the State’s child welfare system and promote safe, stable, and permanent outcomes for children in out-of-home placement.  Under the Administrator’s direction, CRBC’s 54 Local Boards review cases of placements in 23 counties and Baltimore City to evaluate the child’s progress while in Foster Care; to promote the child’s safety and placement in a safe, nurturing, and permanent home; and to ensure the child’s healthy development. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a master's degree in Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university. 
 
Experience:  Five years of professional experience in public child welfare which must include In Home and Out of Home placements.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
A master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
Experience working with the public and child advocacy groups or organizations.
Strong public speaking, writing and administrative skills.
Experience developing and monitoring a budget.
