LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES

Measuring progress toward the statewide completion goals, and assisting in the coordination of completion efforts across all postsecondary institutions
-
Developing annual enrollment projections
-
Coordinating performance accountability reports for public colleges and universities
-
Producing retention and graduation reports for community colleges and four-year universities
-
Serving as a member of the leadership team for the State Plan for Postsecondary Education with specific responsibility for assessing progress toward meeting the Plan’s goals
-
Providing policy reports on specific issues as requested by the Governor’s Office and General Assembly
-
Coordinating agency’s support and contribution to the Maryland Longitudinal Data System
-
Coordinating the response to data and information requests received from other state agencies, the General Assembly, postsecondary institutions and public at-large.

Providing leadership, professional development and growth opportunities for the staff members in the Research and Policy Analysis department
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Possession of a Master's degree from an accreddited institution.
Experience: Five years of experience in higher education research and planning, including a history of designing and coordination of large-scale collaborative projects and complex research studies.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be an experienced leader in higher education with excellent analytical skills and the ability to convey complex research findings to lay audiences. Applicants should have experience managing projects with deadlines, working collaboratively as part of a team, and leading work groups. Competitive applicants will possess a Ph.D. from an accredited institution. Additionally, applicants should have:

Expertise in social science research methods and knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques utilizing either SPSS or SAS.

A solid record of using data to inform policy decisions and recommendations.

A thorough understanding of critical issues regarding all segments of postsecondary education.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
For education obtained outside the U.S. you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education by a foreign credential evaluation service.
