Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to manage the Developmental Disabilities Administration's Southern Maryland Regional Office (SMRO), in collaboration with the Regional Director.   This position provides direction of all programmatic, fiscal, and operational aspects of SMRO DDA services to ensure that SMRO is consistently responsive to the needs of consumers/families/providers/stakeholders/legislators and the general public.  Also functions as the Regional Director in her absence.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree and Six (6) years of professional experience in health or human services, three (3) years of which must have been professional work related to services to persons with developmental disability and three (3) years of which must have been at the managerial and/or supervisory level.  A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience.  A Doctorate will substitute for two years general experience.  Additional experience will substitute year-for-year for the college degree. 

The successful applicant should have experience dealing with Maryland Providers, Maryland Medicaid and experience serving people with developmental disabilities in community-based settings.
