Main Purpose of Job

To serve as the Assistant Director of the agency's Adult, Child and Family Services Division, administering the Division's operations and the operations and facilities management of the Department's Family Support Center and Safe Place, the County Child Advocacy Center. Additionally, the position acts as the Director of the Department in his absence. To provide leadership and direction to the Social Services Administrator III's responsible for the service delivery in Child Protective Services, Foster Care and Adoption, Service to Families with Children and Social Services to Adults; evaluate the overall quality of casework service rendered and monitor for adherence to program policies and procedures; provide expert knowledge of public administration in a social service agency; possess the ability to assess a wide variety of administrative details; analyze information for problem identification and resolution; provide leadership and direction to the Administrator II who manages the day-to-day program and building management of the Washington County Family Support Center; provide leadership and direction to the Administrator II managing the daily operations and building management of the Child Advocacy Center; provide leadership and direction to the Office Supervisor responsible for the Division's clerical staff; provide clinical consultation to other Human Service Providers; possess excellent knowledge of Social Work methods and practices; ensure the Division's compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; manage production of ACFS Division's documents and reports; manage the preparation of the Division's annual State and County budgets and monitoring spending; represent the Department on numerous planning, advisory, advocacy and issue-oriented groups.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master's degree in Social Work from a college or university approved by the Council on Social Work Education or  master's degree in a related field from an accredited university.

Experience: Seven years of professional experience in a social work setting in a public or private agency or institution; five of this experience must have involved the supervision of other employees.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidate will also have experience in program development, evaluation and budget preparation and management.
