Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the Executive Director position is to administer the statutory mandates of the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators, established under Title 9, Health Occupations Article and Rules and Regulations of the Code of Maryland, 10.33.01. The Board operates with complete responsibility in the areas of: licensure, disciplinary, fiscal, computer capabilities, office/human resources, policy and regulation development, administrative, public relations, legislative functions and public information. 

This position is responsible for the management of all activities of the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.  The successful candidate is responsible for providing leadership, setting standards, establishing overall policies and processes, providing oversight for the licensure program, and the management and development of disciplinary and compliance activities.  Will oversee and manage the day-to-day operation of the Board's office:  setting program priorities, goals, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures for the Board.  The Office and Board are responsible for promoting the standards that benefit the citizens of Maryland, the aged and infirm residents of nursing facilities in Maryland.  Candidate will be responsible for preparing minutes, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets.  An ability to type and knowledge of appropriate software packages is a must. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Requires a bachelor’s degree and six years of administrative or professional experience, three of which must include experience in budgeting, compliance tracking and regulatory processes and three of which must be at a supervisory or management level.
 
A master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience.   A doctorate will substitute for two years of general experience.

Must be capable of traveling to nursing facilities throughout the state to monitor training program.  Candidate must type and be proficient in all the standard software packages.
