Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to organize and oversee the production of printed products and material. The incumbent will assist in overseeing all aspects of running a print shop, while supervising adult offenders in a Correctional Facility.
POSITION DUTIES
The individual selected for this position will be responsible for supervising and training adult offenders in all aspects of textiles and apparel manufacturing; operating industrial sewing machines and related equipment, pattern development and grading, cutting operations, garment construction/production methods, press/finishing operations. The right individual will know how to manage a production floor, along with establishing and maintaining quality control standards throughout the manufacturing process. Knowledge of commercial embroidery business a plus.
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from a standard High School or possession of a State High School Equivalence Certificate.
Experience: One year minimum of experience in training and/or supervising in one or more textiles procedures. knowledge of commercial embroidery business a plus.

(1) Specific education requirements and other selections standards are set by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission in accordance with Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209 or the Annotated Code and are listed in teh Code of Maryland Regulations Title 12, Subtitle 10, Chapter 01.
(2) Employees who have not already done so must meet the selection standards required and successfully complete the training prescribed by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission for a correctional officer during their probationary period, (Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209)
(3) Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
