This is a recruitment for an Executive Associate II in the Office of the Commission of the Maryland Public Service Commission.

Main Purpose of Job

The position provides administrative support and acts as the personal secretary and assistant to a PSC Commissioner (Executive Service official), and a PSC Commissioner Advisor.  This is an "at will" position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority, "the Commission".

POSITION DUTIES

Organizes testimony, briefs and other materials associated with proceedings for the Commissioner and Commission Advisor prior to hearings and deliberations held on the matters;

Acts as an intermediary for the Executive, maintaining frequent contacts with public and private executives, professional staff and other officials;

Answers incoming inquiries from visitors and callers and arranges for appointments and interviews;

Maintains important and confidential records, schedules, and expense accounts;

Compiles materials for weekly Commission and Administrative meetings;

Opens, sorts, reads and distributes incoming Commissioner correspondence;  Reviews records for completeness and accuracy;

May design and implement office procedures;

Composes correspondence and relieves the Executive of operational details by assembling, compiling and summarizing data into a concise form;

Handles travel arrangements for both the Commissioner and Commission Advisor;

May use word processing, database, spreadsheet or desktop publishing computer software applications, (including Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint) in order to prepare reports, charts, graphs or other documents. 

Performs other related duties as necessary.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate is required.  An associates degree or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.  

Must possess a minimum of three years experience performing duties in an executive support role.  

Note:

1.  Thirty credit hours in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Google Mail is preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

A valid authorization to work in the U. S. and a valid state of Maryland driver’s is required.
