Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Medical Director of the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control and provides medical direction and guidance to the Director and Deputy Director of the Center, including the provision of clinical consultation on medical questions, participation in programmatic clinical meetings, and the development of medical guidelines. This position provides oversight and direct supervision of the Maryland Cancer Fund and the Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Program within the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates must possess a MD or DO degree, Board Certification and at least five years of experience at the managerial level in a public health setting, including experience in the oversight and management of personnel and financial resources, with at least three years of administrative and clinical experience in the field of cancer and/or chronic disease prevention and control. 

Applicants must be licensed and currently registered with the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of the current registration must be attached to the application.
