Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for processing both funding/placement packets that put individuals with developmental disabilities into services and contracts with providers for services funded by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Since facilitating the provision of services to individuals with disabilities is a primary goal for DDA, this position directly supports the Administration's mission and is critical for maintaining a fiscally responsible and flexible service delivery system.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.

Experience: Two years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with thirty credit hours in Accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing, for the required education.

 2. Applicants who have met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above.

3. Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

4. Applicants may substitute one year of professional auditing experience for one year of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant should have experience reviewing and procesing contractual and rate-base funding packets,  experience preparing standard and human service agreement contracts with providers, as well as, experience providing technical assistance to staff and community service providers during the preparation of funding packets.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
