Main Purpose of Job

The position services as the Director of Fiscal Services for the Eastern Shore Hospital Center and Upper Shore Community Center.  The main purpose of this position is to plan and coordinate all fiscal services for two State facilities, and efficiently and effectively manage the financial resources and related data needed to facilitate the provision of services to all patients admitted.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 30 credit hours in accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by 3 credit hours in auditing.  Transcripts MUST accompany application.

Experience: Three years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles.

Notes:

1. Applicants who had met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above.

2. Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a masters degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

3. Applicants may substitute one year of professional budgeting experience or one year of professional auditing experience for one year of the required experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
