Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to direct the operations of the Budget Management Office with in the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This office is responsible for the preparation and management of operating budgets for each of the Department's 51 programs with an aggregate total budget in FY 2014 of approximately 10.3 billion dollars. This position functions at the full performance level of work preparing, presenting and executing agency budgets for assigned units. This position is also responsible for coordinating the use of electronic data systems for the Budget Management Office.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or closely related field; and, six years of experience in budgeting, accounting, auditing or financial analysis, including three years at a supervisory, team leader or management level. A related master’s degree or CPA will substitute for one year of general experience. Additional general experience as above can substitute year for year for the bachelor’s degree.
