Introduction

The Office of Administrative Hearing (OAH), is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates, to service as a Fiscal Accounts Clerk.

Main Purpose of Job

To record and process filing fees and assist in various accounting functions. Major responsibilities include: recording filing fees, verifying accuracy of information, preparing and transporting daily deposits.

In addition, the employee must provide assistance to the Finance Department with processing of invoices, reconciliation of fees, entering refund data on FMIS system, filing and copy reports, and other various accounting functions as needed.

POSITION DUTIES

Inputs fees after ensuring all necessary monies are included with hearing requests per fee collection procedures.
 
Verifies accuracy of inputted data and determines the accuracy of exceptions generated by the computer on screen or on computerized reports.  The exceptions are compared to the hearing request forms according to fee collection procedures.  Contact agencies when appropriate for clarification.

Generates and distributes appropriate fee reports for hearing request listings and dollar totals per fee collection procedures.

Prepares and transports the bank deposits to deposit monies collected into State accounts by completing the deposit form and counting all monies to verify totals against computer reports and miscellaneous collections.

Provide assistance to the Finance Department in processing of invoices, reconciliation of fees, inputting refund data on FMIS system, and other various accounting functions as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.

Notes:

1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.

2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

3. A minimum of five courses or six months of accounting-related training in a vocational training program in subjects such as journalizing transactions, analyzing transactions into debits and credits, posting to a general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience related to the requirements of the position.  You may be required to complete a qualifications supplement, or the rating may be based on your application. Therefore, it is important that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.
