Introduction
This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.
The resulting eligible list will be used to fill positions in DPSCS Correctional facilities throughout the State of Maryland. Applicants certified to this list will remain eligible for at least one year.

Main Purpose of Job
This position will provide entry level fiscal accounts clerk assistance to either the Inmate Accounts Department or Timekeeping.
A Fiscal Accounts Clerk Trainee is the entry level of work reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.
POSITION DUTIES
Prepares receipts and disbursements for posting various inmate transactions to the Maryland Offenders Banking System.
Corresponds with inmates, security staff, case management, inmate relatives and released inmates to answer inquiries.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: None
Note:
Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
This position is limited to permanent and contractual employees working with the Roxbury Correctional Institution for the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services only.
