Main Purpose of Job

The Director of Nursing is responsible for continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Clinical Services assuring continuous integration of nursing service with other health care disciplines(Education,Employee Health/Infection Control, Medical Records,Respiratory, Speech, Occupational, Physical Therapies, Therapeutic Recreation, and Case Management, Lab and Kidney Unit.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university and Six years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Long Term Care or a Hospital setting, to include three years in a supervisory, consultative, teaching or administrative capacity.   Graduate education in health services administration or nursing is desirable.  A related Master’s degree will substitute for one year of the general RN experience.  Current Maryland RN license required prior to appointment.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.  *Current copy of license must accompany your application.*
