Main Purpose of Job

This position is the executive level in the Nursing department responsible for directing, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating all nursing services within a 24/7 in-patient psychiatric facility encompassing a patient population of adolescents to geriatric. Directly supervises ADON's, Nursing PI and Clinical Specialists and indirectly supervises RN Managers, RN Supervisors, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Charge RNs, Staff RNs, LPNs, DCT/DCAs, C/A MHAs, and Patient/Client Drivers. This position ensures that personnel are competent and knowledgeable to provide nursing care, and nursing care of the highest quality is provided to patients. Responsible for developing nursing care standards and policies and procedures in accordance with stated hospital vision, mission, and values, This position receives managerial supervision from the Chief of Clinical Operations and the Superintendent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified applicants must possess a master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of psychiatric nursing experience (as a registered nurse) of which at least three (3) years must have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity. 

Qualified candidates must possess a  license as a Registered Nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.   A copy of your current RN license must accompany application.
