Main Purpose of Job

This position provides skilled physical therapy services and supervises the work of Physical Therapy Department staff to ensure individualized evaluation and treatment for the patients/residents in the specialty hospital and comprehensive care programs. The Physical Therapy Supervisor functions as a positive role model in team building and facilitating carry over of interdisciplinary patient care goals with the purpose of progressing the patient efficiently to their maximum level of independent functioning.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners under the licensing requirements for Physical Therapists.

Experience:Four years of experience as a physical therapist.

Note: A Master’s degree in Physical Therapy may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Physical Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. (You must upload and attached a current copy of your license to this application)

2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1.Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in and, therefore, may be required to provide the employer with a phone number where they can be reached.

2.Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
