Main Purpose of Job

The primary purpose of position is to investigate and substantiate violations the standards of nursing practice as they relate to violations of the Nurse Practice Act in order to carry out the mission of the Maryland Board of Nursing to protect the public.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: None

Note: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse may be substituted for the Education requirement.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess and maintain a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
