Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to direct and manage the procurement, receipt, inventory, storage and distribution of all commodities for the Annapolis Capital Complex.

POSITION DUTIES

Initiates requisitions and assigns purchase orders for materials, supplies and equipment for the entire Annapolis Capital Complex.  This involves working in the FMIS/ADPICS systems to research and determine that the best and/or proper vendors are used.  Working with the Finance Office to ensure Purchase Orders are complete and payments are made.  Tracking the usage and reordering of supplies to maintain adequate stock is on hand.  Receiving and disbursing of stock as required.

Maintain and update inventory records of all fixed assets located in the Annapolis Capital Complex.  Oversee the disposition and disposal of all excess property and ensure compliance with the inventory procurement and control procedures.  

Coordinate the use and maintenance of the motor pool vehicles assigned to the facility.  

Direct and supervise the Inter-office mail delivery operations from Annapolis to Baltimore and back and payroll pick-ups. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate.

Experience: Five years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials and equipment, three years of which must have included experience at the supervisory or management level or must have involved the final responsibility for purchasing and requisitioning.

Notes: Applicants may substitute education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for one year of experience for up to one year of the required general experience.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position.  Successful candidates will be placed on the employment eligibility list categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED or QUALIFIED. The list will be valid for one year for use by the hiring agency to select employees.
