Main Purpose of Job

This position with the Division of Procurement Policy and Administration, within the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will assist the DBM Board of Public Works (BPW) Manager with preparation and submission of the DBM BPW Agenda documents.

This position provides clear and concise editing of BPW Agenda submissions to ensure accuracy and completion; prepares draft BPW Agenda for DBM Secretary/personnel and the Governor's BPW representative for the internal Pre-Board meeting; and disseminates questions from BPW staff to proper agency analyst and agency personnel for submission to DBM BPW Manager for review and response by required deadlines.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Two years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates with ADPICS experience is preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

Successful candidates will be ranked as Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified and placed on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
