Introduction

THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO CURRENT DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES (DNR) EMPLOYEES ONLY.

This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources, Integrated Policy and Review- Annapolis, MD location. This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies for this position/function only. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year. Persons interested in future vacancies within this classification must re-apply.

LOCATION OF POSITION

Annapolis, MD (Anne Arundel County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Integrated Policy and Review Unit in Annapolis, Maryland, is currently accepting applications for a Management Associate. This position will be responsible for maintaining a database and filing system for the purpose of tracking the Unit's environmental permit review activity. The selected candidate will also provide administrative support for the Unit in the areas of procurement, office supply and inventory management, budgetary tracking, and other office management support functions.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five (5) years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration or Personnel Specialist classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Special Assistant or Secretarial fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is limited to current Department of Natural Resources (DNR) employees only.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a typewriter or keyboard on a personal computer, computer terminal or word processor at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
