Introduction
This is a MANAGEMENT SERVICES position with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

LOCATION OF POSITION
Division of Pretrial Detention and Services
Baltimore, Maryland
Main Purpose of Job
This position directs the Case Management Managers and supervises through them the case management staff to ensure case management services are in compliance with departmental and agency procedures and continuity of services.
POSITION DUTIES
Directs or assists in the direction of the daily operations of case management services;
Plans, organizes and supervises the work of subordinate staff for case management services;
Evaluates efficiency of operations and develops, revises and recommends new policies, standards, and workflow procedures;
Interprets, applies and oversees the application of agency policies, rules and regulations to accomplish the work of the unit or division;
Implements new regulations and policies as directed by upper management;
Sets goals and deadlines and oversees the workflow of the case management services unit;
Coordinates workflow with administrators of other units in areas of work spanning multiple units;
Coordinates leave and staff coverage of unit;
Performs other related duties.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. In order to meet this educational requirement an unofficial copy of your transcript must accompany your application.
Experience: five years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. One year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience. In order to meet this requirement an unofficial copy of your transcript must accompany your application.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of case management work experience

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
