Main Purpose of Job

This position is to direct and assist with policy oversight of the Reportable Event Review Unit program which is part of the Division of Quality and Compliance Review. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and administering the application of the Reportable Events program policies and procedures which guide critical events reporting in four statewide programs; the Medical Assistance Personal Care Program, Home and Community-based Options Waiver, Increased Community Services program and Community First Choice. This position relates to the agency mission of providing quality health care to Maryland residents by supporting the health and safety of individuals receiving home and community-based long term care services.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should have experience in program administration and staff supervision in the area of health and human services. Candidate should have experience working with web-based data systems and data analysis and reporting requirements for abuse, neglect or exploitation of vulnerable adults. The applicant must have strong communication skills, oral and written.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
