Main Purpose of Job

This position will work collaboratively with the Capital Planning and Budgeting Unit Team providing operational expertise in developing the facility programs for the capital improvement projects established to accomplish the departmental mission. The position will develop facility programs for Capital Improvement Projects in accordance with the State of Maryland Facility Program Manual.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

At least one year of experience planning for the acquisition, renovation and/or construction of buildings.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in a youth residential detention or treatment facility is preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

This list will be used by DJS hiring agency to select employees. Applicants who meet the Minimum Qualifications will be placed on the eligible list categorized as Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified. Candidates shall be certified to the eligible list for a year.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
