Main Purpose of Job
This position serves as the Department's Property and Inventory Control Officer responsible for the effective management of the Department's Personal State Property and Seized and Abandoned Property Units. The position coordinates, administers and supervises all programs designed for the Department's disposal of surplus and unclaimed property. It also serves as the Department's liaison for the Department of General Services with regard to all issues concerning State personal property and capital inventory.
POSITION DUTIES
Responsible to assist, provide advice and supervise the Department’s Property Unit Supervisor, Inventory Control Specialist, Services Specialist, and Statewide accountable officers within each installation/unit/division with regard to compliance issues relating to the care, maintenance, management, and disposal of State and unclaimed/seized property. Provide managerial oversight and ensure compliance with the Department’s annual decentralized Capital Inventory Program schedule. Conduct periodic performance audits of the all Department property programs and prepare appropriate reports for Chief Financial Officer and the Director of Finance to ensure compliance with State law, Department of General Services (DGS), C.O.M.A.R. and MSP regulations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
At least one (1) year of experience managing property and/or evidence in a law enforcement agency
OR
At least one (1) year experience processing evidence and/or property in a law enforcement agency.

SELECTION PROCESS

EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position.
