Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of administrative, secretarial and clerical duties for the Interagency Collaboration Branch and to facilitate management details for the Interagency Collaboration Branch and the Autism Waiver and Heath Related Services Section.

POSITION DUTIES

Provides management support for the Interagency Collaboration Branch including the Autism Waiver, Health Related Services, interagency coordination, and the rate setting initiative for youth requiring out-of-home placements; prepares correspondence, memorandums, charts and tables; examines, checks and verifies reports and correspondence for completeness, propriety, adequacy and accuracy; creates and completes Autism Waiver applications and enters data into the application database; proofreads draft and final copies for errors in spelling and grammar; manages and schedules meeting locations and prepares training packages; manages time collection documents for permanent employees, consultants and contractors; handles telephone inquiries; exercises discretion as to what information may be released or must be referred to supervisor while maintaining a high degree of discretion at all times in the securing and releasing of information.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Direct experience working with individuals with disabilities; data entry, development of tables/charts and formulas preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a typewriter or keyboard on a personal computer, computer terminal or word processor at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
