Main Purpose of Job

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the activities for Maryland's Money Follows the Person (MFP) demonstration and to support the Department's complementary long term services and supports rebalancing initiatives, including, but not limited to, Community First Choice and the Balancing Incentive Program. This position will liaison with other departments and administrations, as well as internal staff for the purpose of developing and clarifying policy issues and customer service issues related to the provision of behavioral health supports, and for reviewing and interpreting state and federal policy, regulations and procedures. This position collaborates with other divisions and departments to support new and expanded home and community based services as well contributes to special projects. The Analyst must have strong written and verbal communication skills to respond to complex sensitive issues associated with older adults and persons with disabilities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Note:

A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
