DHMH- Cecil County Health Department, Elkton, MD.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide service coordination and clinical oversight/management to children/adolescents and their families enrolled in the Public Mental Health System service Cecil County. This position assists and advises the Core Service Agency Director regarding planning, funding and monitoring community-based services for children/adolescents, service coordination issues and emergency preparedness.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Five years of professional experience in health services, two years of which must have been in the option for which application is made.

Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the option must be as follows: professional work related to treatment and services for mentally ill patients.

3. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Mental Health/Social Work clinical licensure is preferred.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
