Main Purpose of Job

This position acts as one of three supervisors for the In-Home Aide Services (IHAS) program in the Baltimore County Department of Social Services. The IHAS program complements other social service programs by providing specific, non-skilled home health services to individuals of all ages in order to remedy the risk of abuse, neglect, self-neglect or exploitation, promote a safe environment; promote self-sufficiency; enhance existing formal and informal natural supports and/or provide therapeutic support services to families.  Staff supervised by this position provide personal care and chore (and in some instances respite and therapeutic aide) services to individuals living in the community. This component of the program works in conjunction with case management staff in the Family Services Division of the Baltimore County Department of Social Services to prevent out of home placement of children and/or assist with re-unification of families.  In addition, there may be coordination with the Baltimore County Department of Aging and the Baltimore County Health Department to ensure that IHAS recipients are receiving appropriate services. In addition, this position provides direct supervision to Certified Nursing Assistants providing Chore and Personal Care services to a specified caseload.  As a member of the IHAS administrative team, this position may assume responsibility for monitoring applications to the program as well as maintaining the IHAS Wait List and Registry.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes:

1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration
of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at may be substituted the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience providing professional social work services to children and/or adults.
