LOCATION OF POSITION
DHMH- Worcester County Health Department, Snow Hill, MD.
Main Purpose of Job
This position conducts assessments and plans activities in Worcester County Health Department, at the direction of the Health Officer or Deputy Health Officer. This position assists in the production and release of public information regarding Health Department Programs, perform PIO duties and participate in all hazards response planning.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least 30 semester credit hours in one or more of the following subjects: English, journalism, public relations, writing or other similar and related areas of study.
Experience: None
Note: Additional experience in public information, public relations, journalism or other related experience in publicity or promotional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired applicant should have experience in public health and experience developing social media campaigns; as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
