Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Assigns, reviews and supervises the work of the Homestead supportive staff. Trains and instructs staff on policies and regulations, standards and controls for completing assigned duties.
- Reviews all applications for Co-Ops Units individual account numbers within the State, oversees the internet portion of the Homestead filing and the processing of all new purchaser applications and coordinates the scanning and shredding of applications.
- Makes recommendations to the Unit Administrator III position regarding processing policies, filing trends, and needs for enhancements to the system.
- Composes correspondence (letters and emails) informing the public and other government agencies of Homestead procedures and policies.
- Investigates persons who may be deemed fradulent -- verifying supplied information using appropriate letters to either grant or deny credits.
- Represents the Department at the Property Tax Assessments Appeal Boards on Homestead eligibility cases in person to defend the agencies position of credit denial.
- Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:Four years of experience performing clerical duties.
Notes: 1. Additional experience performing clerical duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Applicants may substitute education from an accredited college or university at the rate of thirty semester credit hours for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
