LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to schedule all Division of Correction inmates for parole hearings in accordance with the law and established Maryland Parole Commission policies and procedures.
POSITION DUTIES
Ensures that files are appropriately organized;
Docket initial and rehear parole cases;
Ensures that the docket has the maximum amount of available cases;
Ensure that the docket has the maximum amount of available cases;
Ensure that the docket is emailed and/or faxed to the appropriate personnel in the appropriate time;
Ensure that the OCMS data entry has been completed;
Reviews the weekly schedule to ensure accuracy with file distribution;
Ensure that the file have been appropriately tracked to the assigned hearing officer or commissioner (s);
Ensure that postponed cases are promptly rescheduled;
Perform other duties as necessary
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Completion of the eighth grade.
Experience: One year of experience typing correspondence, reports, charts or other documents from rough draft, corrected copy or oral instruction on a keyboard of a personal computer, computer terminal or word processor.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience typing or performing other clerical duties on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate for six months of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute five courses or six months of clerical training in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, data base, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette for six months of the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the clerical support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills and must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, Access and Outlook.
