This position is limited to permanent and contractual employees working with the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) Maryland Correctional Pre Release Systems, Brockbridge Correctional Facility.

Main Purpose of Job

The Services Supervisor II oversees the duties of the Correctional Supply Officer and Commissary Operations at Brockbridge Correctional Facility. Additionally, The Services Supervisor II assists all departments in preparation of requisitions for purchases and acquisition of all materials and supplies required for smooth operation of the facility. The Services Supervisor II manages all of the capital and sensitive equipment inventories and manages the business operations of Brockbridge Correctional Facility. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all business services and fiscal activities required for daily operations. The Services Supervisor II is responsible for preparation and submission of Excess Property Declarations, Missing and Stolen Property Reports, and Property Disposal forms, to DPSCS Headquarters.

POSITION DUTIES

Check employee timecards for accuracy and compliance;

Perform the duties required by Comar, Title 21 as relevant to all procurement documents and reports.

Perform the duties of a procurement Officer for maintaining contracts, verifying vendor compliance with State contracts for pricing of equipment and supplies, and proper submission of materials received reports.

Audit the billing of services provided under state contracts such as vending machines, photo copier, fax machines newspaper, dumpster, pest control and magazine subscriptions.

Audit reports submitted for accuracy and contents.

Supervise daily operations of the commissary and ordering of products offered for sale to the inmate population.

Audit daily commissary sales, prepare daily cash reports and make required deposits.

Verify deductions; calculate totals, and prepare deposit journal for inmate work release pay checks. Prepare the deposit reports and make the required deposits. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years supervisory experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Note:

1. Additional experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
